Summer is over (unofficially). Kids are back in school (or will be back in school soon). Fall is around the corner. Football season is about to begin. Even though this summer was relentless with the heat and humidity, I am not ready for cold weather. I’d like to hold onto the warmth just a little bit longer. Bring on the dog days of summer!
August was a good reading month. I didn’t read as much as I wanted but I did finally read the infamous Night Huntress series (Bones and Cat are awesome). I can’t believe it took me so long to read the series. What was I thinking? If you haven’t read the series, run, don’t walk, to your nearest bookstore and get it. You won’t regret it!

Favorite book(s) read:
This is a no brainer. The Night Huntress series is fantabulous! I read all 4 books in a week. And then I immediately read the two books from the spin-off series, Night Huntress World. Cat and Bones has to be one of the best PNR couples I’ve read to date. I can’t wait to get my fix when This Side of the Grave is released in February.
Least favorite:
None. No stinkers for me in August. Woot!

• I guest posted over at Mama Kitty Reviews for her 1 year Blogiversary.
• I was interviewed by Reading with Tequila for her Getting Random With series. Check out my interview and enter to win a $10 Amazon.com gift card (US Residents only). Visit Reading with Tequila to enter. Contest ends 9/2.
• You may have noticed that I’ve been moving things around on my blog. I’m trying to make it more viewer friendly (aesthetic). I am always looking for ways to improve my blog. If you have any suggestions or thoughts on what you’d like to see on my blog, let me know. I’m also thinking about changing my review format AGAIN. I’m never satisfied. I’m going to start testing different formats starting in September. I may have readers vote for the format they like best.
• Starting September 1st, my blog will start being an award-free blog. I appreciate the love that fellow bloggers have been giving me by passing along awards. I just can’t keep up with them and I feel guilty when I don’t pass them along in a timely fashion. Instead, I encourage everyone to comment, comment, and comment. I love getting comments because it means that you guys are actually reading my posts and what I’ve wrote has inspired you to comment, whether you agree with my opinion/rating or not.
• My 1 year blogoversary is in 2 months. I haven’t decided if I want to do a huge celebration with guest posts and giveaways or keep it low key. A huge celebration requires a lot of organization and planning and I’m not really that great at either one. I am a procrastinator and I am just now starting to organize and schedule my reading, reviews, posts. It only took 10 months for me to start getting my act together. Thank goodness for Google calendar. I’m already seeing a change but I have a ways to go. So, if anyone wants to volunteer to help, I’m taking applications! (I kid, I kid)
What’s on tap for September:
September is going to be jammed pack with fantastic events, giveaways, author interviews and book tours! This is the start of really putting in the effort to get my blog out there and marketing my blog better. Like I said, I haven’t been the most organized person when it comes to my blog. Up till now I’ve been pretty much winging it. My goal is to turn that around. I want to offer more than just reviews and weekly memes.
I will be participating in BlogFest (Sept. 10-12). Make sure you stop by! You don’t want to miss my fantastic giveaways! I’ll also be participating in Book Blogger Appreciation Week. Already the first 2 weeks of September are going to be spectacular!
Enjoy what’s left of summer!
