summary from Goodreads
After fifteen years of marriage, Jessica Meyers's sex life is, well, a little predictable. Her handsome husband turns her on, but missionary style once or twice a week? It just can't compare to the hot new world she discovers in the pages of erotic romances. Her fantasies fuel the fire of her desire, adding a new spark to her and Alex's lovemaking. But Jess is afraid to tell her husband what she really wants in bed—and her secrets start coming between them.
State trooper Alex Meyers is a master at uncovering the truth—except when it comes to his sweet, shy wife. She's clearly keeping something from him. An affair? She wants out? When he finally confronts Jess, he's shocked to learn she wants to turn her forbidden fantasies into nightly realities. But when he takes her to a unique B and B—Bondage and Breakfast—catering to couples and multiples, Alex is about to find out just how far he'll go.
Marq's thoughts:
I liked the premise of Forbidden Fantasies. Jessica has recently discovered erotic romances and enjoys reading them. What she doesn't like, however, is feeling like she's doing her husband, Alex, a disservice by keeping her desires and wants a secret from him. Their sex life has gotten a little stale but Jessica wants to spice things up. She's afraid that her husband won't be open to what she wants to add to the bedroom. But she can't stop wanting more in her sex life.
Forbidden Fantasies is an accurate portrayal of what can happen when a married couple gets into a sex rut. They both still love each other but work, kids and life in general is constantly getting in the way. I think that Jessica's fear of telling her husband what she wants is genuine. And her feelings of somehow cheating on Alex when she is fantasizing while they are making love.
Even though this is a novella, I think the author does a great job of portraying the feelings of both Alex and Jessica. They both love each other and want the same things. They just have to be able to communicate their wants and desires instead of tip-toeing around the issues.
I enjoyed reading Forbidden Fantasies. I'd like to see more stories centered around married couples who are trying to spice things up or who already spice it up.
