Favorite quote: It was like touring with half a dozen different people. Cheerful Tom. Angry Tom. Clever Tom. Sexy Tom. Bitter Tom. Silent Tom. Throw in Sneezy and Doc and she'd have the whole damn menagerie.
summary from Goodreads
When Lexie Marshall places an ad for a cycling companion, she hopes to find someone friendly and fun to cross the TransAmerica Trail with. Instead, she gets Tom Geiger—a lean, sexy loner whose bad attitude threatens to spoil the adventure she’s spent years planning.
Roped into the cycling equivalent of a blind date by his sister, Tom doesn’t want to ride with a chatty, go-by-the-map kind of woman, and he certainly doesn’t want to want her. Too bad the sight of Lexie with a bike between her thighs really turns his crank.
Even Tom’s stubborn determination to keep Lexie at a distance can’t stop a kiss from leading to endless nights of hotter-than-hot sex. But when the wild ride ends, where will they go next?
Marq's thoughts:
Ride With Me has been sitting on my Kindle for months. I've heard great things about this book but was taking my sweet time reading it. Well, the moment I finished About Last Night, I immediately started reading Ride With Me. All I have to say is d'oh! What took me so long?! I absolutely LOVE grumpy, cranky heroes. They are my kryptonite. I find it so sexy and Tom is as cranky as they come.
Tom is not happy with the fact that his sister has roped him into riding cross country with a partner. He's even more unhappy when Alex turns out to be a woman, not a man. Tom's plan is to find a reliable cycling buddy for Alex so that he can dump her free and clear and without guilt so that he can continue riding solo. Lexie looking forward to the trip despite Tom's grumpiness. She has her trip mapped out and plans on following it to the "T".
I loved Angry Tom and I loved how Lexie didn't let his grumpiness intimidate her. She had no problems going toe-to-toe with him and show him that he didn't scare her. I'm always a fan of the opposite attracts trope and it really works in this book. Lexie's type A personality is in need of some spontaneity. Tom needs to learn that not all people are bad. Both Tom and Lexie have something to teach the other and they learn a lot during their journey.
I enjoyed Ride With Me a lot. It was humorous and sexy. Angry Tom is very funny and I have a weakness for grumpy heroes. I liked Lexie a lot. Again, Knox wrote a heroine that is very likable. I loved Lexie's type A personality. I found it endearing. My only complaint is that the ending felt a little rushed. But other than that, it was an enjoyable read.
