Ellie's Month In Review: June 2012
Hi all hope everyone’s summer is going well and you’re getting lots of reading done by the pool or beach! June was a great month for me for books and for the first time in a very long time I only had two books that I really disliked and no DNFs.
Let's start with the bad first for the month. My two biggest disappointments came from Messenger's Angel by Heather Killough-Walden and Vengeance Moon by Lee Roland. Both books are the second in their series and I have been eagerly anticipating them since I loved the first books in the series. I may have expected too much but the magic from the first books was missing and neither one was great. Hearts of Darkness by Kira Brady was my least favorite book of the month and it was so bad but I couldn’t put it down. I didn’t give the book and ‘F’ for that reason alone.
I did get to review some great books this month. My hands down favorite was Chasing Magic by Stacia Kane. This book is the best book of the series so far and it’s because there is so much Terrible in it. I loved every page and you need to be reading this series. I read my first Dakota Cassidy book this month called Accidentally Dead, Again and I love how much snark is in this book. I am now putting all of Dakota Cassidy’s books in my TBR pile. There were some okay books but these two were my favorites of the month.
For my own personal reads I read The Siren by Tiffany Reisz and it blew my mind. It’s very different from anything I’ve ever read and it was a mind trip the entire time. I am currently trying to catch up with new books from Nalini Singh, Gena Showalter and Jeaniene Frost. I hope everyone is staying cool and has a great July!
