summary from Goodreads
Burning alive is nothing compared to the heat of his touch.

Roasted at the stake as a witch, while her lover watches, Ysabel sells her soul to the devil in return for revenge. A fair trade until her ex-boyfriend escapes the bowels of Hell and she’s forced to team up with a demon to fetch the jerk back.
Remy’s seen a lot of things during his long tenure in Lucifer’s guard, but nothing can prepare him for the witch with the acerbic tongue--and voluptuous figure. Her mouth says ‘Screw you’, but her body screams ‘Take me’. What’s a poor demon to do when his heart makes things even more complicated by goading him to make her his, forever?
Before he can decide if his demonizing days are done though, he needs to catch the bad guys, save the girl and then find a way to convince her to love him and not kill him.

Marq's thoughts:
A Demon and His Witch was such a pleasant surprise. I haven't read any of Eve Langlais' books so I had no expectations when I started reading this book.

Ysabel is a few days away from her tenure as Lucifer's assistant being over. Burned at the stake and betrayed by her lover, Ysabel traded her soul so that she can exact revenge to those who betrayed her. Now those souls have escaped and she won't be let out of her contract until all of the souls are captured and returned to Hell. Oh and one other thing, she will relive her death at the same time every day until her job is done. To assist her, Lucifer employs, Remy, his best guard. Remy is a man-whore (and has no shame about it), he's smug and he has the hots for Ysabel. Too bad she's not interested despite the searing hot kisses.

A Demon and His Witch kept me thoroughly entertained. I had no idea I would be laughing as much I was while reading this book. Remy's confidence and smugness is hilarious and I loved how he constantly teased Ysabel. Ysabel was no shrinking violet. She went toe-to-toe with Remy and never backed down. The banter between the two was witty and hilarious and was used as a great build up to the sexual tension.

I highly recommend this book. It's funny, it's sexy. The characters are entertaining. I loved Ysabel and how she held her own with Remy and Lucifer. Apparently, the Welcome to Hell series is a spin-off of a previous series, Princess of Hell. I've already purchased the books in that series and can't wait to start reading them.

I will definitely be reading more of Eve Langlais' work in the future.
