Ellie's Month in Review: July 2012
I don’t know about the rest of you but my summer is going way too fast and I have not spent enough time at the pool or a beach to be happy. I have read some amazing books this month and started to slowly catch up on my TBR pile which seems to grow and grow.
My favorite review books this month are Carolina Home by Virginia Kantra and Big Sky Mountain by Linda Lael Miller. I was a little apprehensive about starting both books but I quickly fell in love with the characters in each and could not stop reading. I am now obsessed with both series and eagerly anticipating the next books from these authors.
I had a very hard time with Paranormal and historical romance books this month. Nothing I read in either of these genres gave me anything that I loved. Liquid Lies, A Hunger so Wild and Ravishing the Heiress all fell short for me and I’m hoping next month I’ll get out of this funk I’m in.
I caught up on a lot of books this month that I didn’t review but loved. I read both The Siren and The Angel by Tiffany Reisz and they are two of the best books all year. The books are like nothing I’ve ever read before and both of them blew my mind. I also read The Reinfield Syndrome and The Ripple Effect by JA Saare and all I can say is “OH MY GOD”. Both of these series blow my mind and are in my top five best of the year so far.
I have some great books to review in August that I can’t wait for and I am catching up with Wicked Nights by Gena Showalter and Gunmetal Magic by Ilona Andrews. I can’t wait to read these two and catch up with two of my favorite authors. I hope everyone had a great July and that you got to read some great books. Hopefully August will be just as good and until then happy reading.
