summary from Goodreads
All Ivy had ever wanted was a safe, secure life with no drama. Now she was working in an adult theme park where visitors came to role-play their wildest imaginings. She reminded herself to stay focused on her job and to ignore everything else. The reminders didn’t work. One man drew her. Murmur was every erotic dream she’d tried to repress, every deliciously dangerous temptation she said she didn’t need. Her instinct suggested that this was a man who walked in darkness. She ignored the warning.
But Murmur was more than what he seemed. A powerful demon, he used his demonic gift to destroy as well as seduce. In desiring him, Ivy had opened herself to a menace born centuries ago—one that would risk both their lives and betray the promises made with every one of his wicked whispers.
Ellie's thoughts:
If you are not reading the Castle of Dark Dreams series you are missing out on some great paranormal books and characters. Wicked Whispers is the sixth book in the series that takes place on an island off the coast of Galveston, Texas where people come to have their wildest fantasies acted out by real life vampires, demons and wizards. Of course the guests don’t know they are around some of the most powerful creatures on the planet that could destroy the world with one temper tantrum. At this point I highly recommend reading the books in order or you will be very lost with who the characters are and what’s going on.
Wicked Whispers picks up not far after Wicked Edge ended and this time we get Murmur’s story. I for one loved Murmur in the last book and was so excited to learn more about him and his deadly songs. Murmur has agreed to help a friend out and use his songs to call the Unseelie to the castle in hopes of rescuing the lost love of his only friend and agreeing to offer Ali Ivy, new assistant of the castle, in exchange. As Murmur spends more time with Aly he realizes that she may not be what she seems and she just might be the first women to ever capture his heart.
Ali wasn’t my favorite character at first but as the story goes along she turns into one of my favorites. What I love about Nina Bangs is that things are never what they seem and Alis is a perfect example of this. Whenever you read one of these books there are so many twists and turns that will keep you up reading until everything has been revealed. If anyone knows how to keep a reader interested it’s Nina Bangs and she never disappoints.
I loved being back at the castle with all of the old characters especially Sparkle who has to be one of the best characters ever written. Sparkle may not be the nicest person but she sure keeps things interesting especially with Ali and Murmur. This is by far my favorite book in the series mostly because of Ali and Murmur and also the unexpected twist of Ali’s family. I could not put this book down it was that good.
I was so nervous about this book but I loved it and can not wait to see what happens next. There is never a dull moment in this crazy world that Nina Bangs has created and I love every minute that I get to read about it.
