summary from Goodreads
She’s all bottled up.

Jeannie Carlyle is a caterer extraordinaire, more than ready to handle any challenge thrown at her. But when her client asks her to open up a rare bottle of gin for a party, Jeannie is shocked when a guy in poofy pants pops out and she gets sucked inside. Trapped in the bottle, Jeannie does the only thing she can think of and uses her cell phone to search the term “paranormal” and finds the number for OOPS—Out in the Open Paranormal Support.

Until he sets her free.

Werewolf Sloan Flaherty isn’t keen on dealing with distraught women, especially since his sister-in-law Marty basically forced him to man the OOPS phones. But when Jeannie calls in a panic, Sloan is the only one available to find Jeannie’s bottle. After giving it a good rub, Jeannie emerges dressed like a character from Arabian Nights and starts calling Sloan “Master.” Now, they need to figure out how to break their unwanted bond, before the wishes Jeannie can’t stop granting get them into more trouble than even the OOPS girls can handle…

Ellie's thoughts:
Jeannie Carlye was catering another gig for a client when she decided to open a bottle of gin that would change her life forever. Trapped in the bottle Jeannie does what any girl will do google for help and comes across the OOPS webpage for helping new paranormals adjust to their new lives. Jeannie calls for help never expecting to be stuck to the sexy werewolf who got her out of the bottle and whom she now calls ‘master’ and grants wishes for. If becoming a genie wasn’t bad enough someone from Jeannie’s past is back and will stop at nothing until she is his again.

Sloan Flaherty never thought getting roped into helping his sister-in-law and her friends by manning the OOPS phones for an afternoon could flip his whole world upside down. Solan is now stuck to Jeannie, who is very cute but not for the rest of his life. As they try to stop her random wish granting Sloan realizes Jeannie might be what he changed his bad boy ways for. The road ahead of them is a bumpy one filled with magic carpets, MC Hammer pants and a whole heap of danger that they will all be lucky to survive.

The Accidental Genie is my second time diving into the crazy and hilarious world that Dakota Cassidy has created. These books make me laugh out loud and I love the witty dialogue so much that I can’t stop reading until I’ve finished every last page. The Accidental Genie is much darker than the last book and deals with some very heavy issues while still managing to make the reader laugh and stay entertained. This is not an easy thing to do but is done brilliantly in this book.

It took me awhile to warm up to Jeannie mostly because she uses humor to cover up how hurt and scared she is. Once she opened up I loved her and was cheering her on the rest of the book. Jeannie has not had an easy life but meeting Sloan shows her that some men can be trusted and let into your life again. I really loved that Jeannie and Sloan take their time getting to know one another and that they didn’t even like each other very much in the beginning. Sloan is everything I love in a male lead he’s sexy, funny and a reformed man whore. Sloan was perfect for Jeannie and they are a couple that makes sense even though they are so different.

Like always the women from OOPS Nina, Marty and Wanda are around to provide lots of laughs and to keep things from getting too dark. Along with Mat and Darnell the secondary characters once again steal the show and are what makes this series a must read. I find myself trying to figure out who Nina will insult next and what clever way she’ll do it and fingers are crossed that Darnell gets more time in future books. He maybe one of my all time favorite characters.

The Accidental Genie is a magical ride of harem pants, too tight push up bras and one crazy talking magic carpet (who I loved). This book is full of surprises and shows that even the paranormal have tough lives and difficult pasts. I love reading these books and I can’t wait to see what crazy adventure falls in the ladies from OOPs laps next!
